Small Blue English Sea Glass Multi Necklace - Wire Wrapped with Silver Wire

Over 150 years ago, on the northeast coast of England, glass factories created gorgeous items every day. At the end of the day, they would drop broken or imperfect items into the ocean to dispose of them. The tempestuous North Sea tossed and tumbled these pieces, breaking them into smaller pieces and rounding their edges. Then it began depositing them on the shore, for modern day treasure hunters to find! Today we call them 'multis', and covet them because they are rare!

This is a blue and white piece of English multi sea glass. I used silver-plated wire to wrap it, making sure to keep its beautiful face uncovered. The last photo shows how it looks with light behind it, and shows the depth and layering of colors inside. Photos 5 through 9 show the back of the pendant.

I originally designed this to be a necklace, but it would also be a pretty little charm to hang from your car's rearview mirror.

The pendant is 1" long (including the bail) by 3/4" wide. The last picture is lit from the back, showing more detail.

This pendant will ship with a 20" black satin cord (with 2" nickel free extension) in a small pillow box, suitable for storage or gift-giving.

No metal chain is included. If you'd like to add a chain, they can be purchased here:

Care instructions

If your jewelry or ornament darkens, and you don't like the look of patina (I love it!), it can be polished until it sparkles again.

Sometimes tarnish from metal can get onto the beach glass giving it a clouded or dirty look. A gentle scrub of a soft toothbrush with warm water and soap will clean it off.

Dry the piece (air dry or use a hairdryer) before polishing the wire.

Rub the metal surface with medium pressure. Non-scratching polishing & cleansing cloths work until the cloth is completely darkened. Polishing cloths can be found online or at local craft shops. I don't suggest using pastes or other chemicals to clean the metal of your pieces, because the chemicals could get into the tiny pores of sea glass and affect its appearance.
