Sea Glass Earrings - French Souvenir - Unique Gifts for Women - 40th Birthday Gifts for Women - Bonjour Sea Glass by Goofy Moose

The sparkling waves of the Mediterranean wash gorgeous bits of history onto the rocky shore. Each piece of sea glass was once part of something else - a wine bottle, a boat light, or a treasure that was lost at sea...

The beaches in the south of France were a great source for sea glass. The last picture is a view of the beach where our French sea glass was collected!

Though white is a common color on the beaches of Lake Michigan, it was rare in France. Most of the pieces we found while digging through the rounded pebbles were green.

You will not receive the pair of earrings in the picture(s). Your earrings will be made specifically for you! They will be a similar size.

What is beach glass?
Beach glass and sea glass are different names for the same thing - people near oceans usually refer to the glass found on the beach as sea glass, while those of us near lakes call it beach glass. Sea pottery is created in the same way as beach/sea glass.

The action of the waves and the sand smooth the glass, just as sandpaper smooths the surface of wood. I only use authentic sea glass / beach glass in all of my jewelry.
Photo information
I do my best to take pictures that represent the true color of the sea glass, and try to include pictures with various background colors to show how the glass appears in front of different colors. Due to monitor variations, colors may appear slightly different in real life. Please contact me if you are unhappy with your jewelry or feel that the color was misrepresented.

Care instructions

If your jewelry or ornament darkens, and you don't like the look of patina (I love it!), it can be polished until it sparkles again.

Sometimes tarnish from metal can get onto the beach glass giving it a clouded or dirty look. A gentle scrub of a soft toothbrush with warm water and soap will clean it off.

Dry the piece (air dry or use a hairdryer) before polishing the wire.

Rub the metal surface with medium pressure. Non-scratching polishing & cleansing cloths work until the cloth is completely darkened. Polishing cloths can be found online or at local craft shops. I don't suggest using pastes or other chemicals to clean the metal of your pieces, because the chemicals could get into the tiny pores of sea glass and affect its appearance.
