Sea Glass Jewelry - Wirewrpped Se Glass Necklace - Green French Sea Glass Necklace - Bonjour Sea Glass by Goofy Moose
The bright spring sunshine danced on the gentle waves of the Mediterranean and shone on the rocky shores. Tucked in between and under the warm, rounded rocks, like treasure waiting to be found, were pieces of genuine sea glass. The ocean waves lapped at the shore and the sounds of Old Town Nice faded into the background as more and more sea glass treasures were discovered.
My collection of French sea glass is very limited, and each piece of jewelry is completely unique to reflect their rarity. This piece of green sea glass has been carefully wrapped in square copper wire bound with a very small gauge brass wire in one of my signature open-front wrap styles.
The pendant is 1 1/4" long (including the bail) by 3/4" wide.
This pendant will ship with a 20" black satin cord (with 2" nickel free extension) in a small pillow box or organza bag, suitable for storage or gift-giving.
No metal chain is included. If you'd like to add a chain, they can be purchased here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/241856022
Please see all pictures. Nice has a rocky beach, so many of the pieces of sea glass found there (including this one) have naturally occurring pitting and areas where the frosted surface has been chipped away. Once upon a time, this glass was probably part of a wine bottle, that found its way into the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean!

WHAT IS SEA GLASS?
Beach glass and sea glass are different names for the same thing - people near oceans usually refer to the glass found on the beach as sea glass, while those of us near lakes call it beach glass. Sea pottery is created in the same way as beach/sea glass.
The action of the waves and the sand smooth the glass, just as sandpaper smooths the surface of wood. I only use authentic sea glass / beach glass in all of my jewelry.

CONSIGNMENT AND WHOLESALE INFORMATION
I am happy to discuss opportunities for placing my ornaments or sun catchers for sale in your shop. Please contact me via Etsy messages for more information.
If your jewelry or ornament darkens, and you don't like the look of patina (I love it!), it can be polished until it sparkles again.
Sometimes tarnish from metal can get onto the beach glass giving it a clouded or dirty look. A gentle scrub of a soft toothbrush with warm water and soap will clean it off.
Dry the piece (air dry or use a hairdryer) before polishing the wire.
Rub the metal surface with medium pressure. Non-scratching polishing & cleansing cloths work until the cloth is completely darkened. Polishing cloths can be found online or at local craft shops. I don't suggest using pastes or other chemicals to clean the metal of your pieces, because the chemicals could get into the tiny pores of sea glass and affect its appearance.
