Jellyfish necklace made with British sea glass.
These sea creatures have been swimming around my shop for awhile, and now they're available with British sea glass! Choose your favorite size 1 1/2, 2 or 2 1/2 inches long (including bail and tentacles)!
The body is made with a piece of genuine sea glass collected in the United Kingdom.
NOTE: This listing is for 1 jellyfish. Your jellyfish will be created especially for you when you order, so you will not receive the jellyfish in the photos.
This pendant will ship with a 20" black satin cord (with 2" nickel free extension) in an organza bag or small pillow box, suitable for storage or gift-giving.
No metal chain is included. If you'd like to add a chain, they can be purchased here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/241856022
The inspiration for these jellyfish necklaces came from a display, in a cool, dark room in the Monaco Aquarium. I've shared a photo of it in this listing. When I saw this display, I was mesmerized by the gentle, graceful movements of the jellyfish and knew that I had to design something to remind me of that quiet moment. I've included a photo of the display in the listing. Just scroll through until you see the gorgeous jellyfish in their aquarium.

Beach glass and sea glass are different names for the same thing - people near oceans usually refer to the glass found on the beach as sea glass, while those of us near lakes call it beach glass. Sea pottery is created in the same way as beach/sea glass.
The action of the waves and the sand smooth the glass, just as sandpaper smooths the surface of wood. I only use authentic sea glass / beach glass in all of my jewelry.

CONSIGNMENT AND WHOLESALE INFORMATION
I am happy to discuss opportunities for placing my ornaments or sun catchers for sale in your shop. Please contact me via Etsy messages for more information.
If your jewelry or ornament darkens, and you don't like the look of patina (I love it!), it can be polished until it sparkles again.
Sometimes tarnish from metal can get onto the beach glass giving it a clouded or dirty look. A gentle scrub of a soft toothbrush with warm water and soap will clean it off.
Dry the piece (air dry or use a hairdryer) before polishing the wire.
Rub the metal surface with medium pressure. Non-scratching polishing & cleansing cloths work until the cloth is completely darkened. Polishing cloths can be found online or at local craft shops. I don't suggest using pastes or other chemicals to clean the metal of your pieces, because the chemicals could get into the tiny pores of sea glass and affect its appearance.
