Sea Glass Sailboat Ornament / Suncatcher made with Florida Sea Glass

As the cold winter winds blow outside your window, this little sailboat will sparkle in the sunlight, reminding you of happy times on the water.

This sailboat is handmade of copper and sea glass. The sea glass was collected long ago, on the beaches near Venice, Florida. It was given to me as a gift with a lot of other Florida sea glass. I drilled it and attached copper to the sail.

It measures approximately 3" tall (including the top wire) and is hanging from a piece of twine. Though it was designed to be a sun catcher, it would also look good on a beach-themed Christmas tree, hanging from your car's rearview mirror, or as a small decorative piece in your home.

You will receive the sailboat that is pictured.

Please note: This piece of garden art was designed to be used inside or outside, but is unlikely to withstand strong winds without breaking. Please take inside when winds are strong.

Care instructions

If your jewelry or ornament darkens, and you don't like the look of patina (I love it!), it can be polished until it sparkles again.

Sometimes tarnish from metal can get onto the beach glass giving it a clouded or dirty look. A gentle scrub of a soft toothbrush with warm water and soap will clean it off.

Dry the piece (air dry or use a hairdryer) before polishing the wire.

Rub the metal surface with medium pressure. Non-scratching polishing & cleansing cloths work until the cloth is completely darkened. Polishing cloths can be found online or at local craft shops. I don't suggest using pastes or other chemicals to clean the metal of your pieces, because the chemicals could get into the tiny pores of sea glass and affect its appearance.
